I have walked beside you for a lifetime
I know I must leave you behind
It was so dark at times
You take my hand and lead me to the places I was too fearful to walk alone
When I first found you, I was so small you were so brave
Out of darkness, you lead me to a land where I was safe
With veiled joy, I leave you.
Where I was too fearful to walk alone my stride is strong
